If you’ve tried the Infinite Bookshelf app, you’ve discovered how powerful it is at writing stories.

But you’ve also found some of the missing features or bugs:
Drop-down menus use white text on a white background. You have to slide down the list before the text turns black and visible. Yes, I’ve tried to fix this twice and couldn’t. I haven’t found what’s causing this yet.
Save story. You can’t save the story and return to it later. You have to create and read everything in a single sitting–or just leave the app open until you return. Yes, this one is a double-edged sword. I don’t want this to be a tool for authors to create and publish books entirely with AI. It’s supposed to be for readers. But the current config kind of limits you to short stories. I’ll work this out.
Random is a mystery. If you choose the “Randomize” option, the app does not show you the choices for the type of story it has selected for you. You have to figure that out as you read it.
Long Plot. I don’t think a user will have discovered this yet, but the plot is very linear. The AI does not layout facts or events in early chapters that will become important only in later chapters. Right now, the app’s stories are pretty simple. I think I can fix this when I learn how to describe this so an AI can understand it and reproduce it.
That’s all for now. Enjoy the app. It’s just a demo/prototype/toy for now.
