Childhood’s End, Still Great After 70 Years

I just finished listening to the audiobook of “Childhood’s End” by Arthur C Clarke. It was written in 1953 describing man’s first encounter with aliens. But this encounter is not like anything in today’s movies. It’s a 180-year saga of an alien overlord species who does nothing but improve the condition of the world… until Earth and Humans meet their final end. The book is filled with great ideas and insights that are just as valuable now as they were 70 years ago when they first appeared. I can only dream of creating something a fraction as good and enduring as this book.
